Mini Athletics Ayrshire and West Central Scotland

At Mini Athletics, we believe that every child’s journey into movement should be a joyful adventure. Led by our Head Coach, Anthony—a dedicated dad who transitioned into child-led development through his love for working with children and his own daughter—we provide expertly crafted sessions for children from walking age up to 8 years old.

Our mission is to build physical literacy—the essential foundation for all sport—through the power of play and imagination. Rather than pushing for early specialisation, we focus on multilateral development, helping children master fundamental movement patterns like running, jumping, and throwing in a pressure-free environment.

Each week, our themed sessions transport little ones into new worlds—from racing through space, taming dinosaurs to exploring deep jungles. We invite parents to stay and witness the magic, creating a unique opportunity to bond and celebrate those "big little wins" together. At Mini Athletics, we aren't just teaching skills; we’re building the confidence, resilience, and coordination that serve as a launchpad for life.

In my youth a 100m and 200m sprinter that has always and will always have a love for athletics, as I know the amazing benefits its brings and without it you honestly cant have any sports, athletics is in everything. Head Amazineer eager to share my knowledge to students and recruits alike, working with kids is everything because they are our future. I am also an STA Award trained swimming coach and have enjoyed this profession for the several years, teaching babies up to preschool toddlers how to swim. My amazing wife Karen and daughter Elodie, who you will see at classes, have been supportive and inspirational in my career choices, and I couldn’t be prouder of them. Oh, and can’t forget to mention Nala the goofball rottweiler that has found her way into all our hearts making up the Walker clan.
