Welcome to Mini Athletics Cambridge & Saffron Walden
A place for your child to run, jump, throw, learn and grow in confidence – while having a brilliant time doing it.
Our classes are designed for children from walking up to their 8th birthday, using athletics, imaginative themes and purposeful play to build the foundations of movement.
Your child won’t just learn how to run, jump and throw.
They’ll practise listening, taking turns, following instructions, working with others, trying again when something is difficult and becoming more confident doing things independently.
And because we wrap it all up in stories, games and imagination, most of the time they don’t even realise how much they’re learning.
I’m Ryan, and I’ve been coaching children locally for years, alongside a background in SEND education and child development.
That experience shapes how we coach across Mini Athletics Cambridge & Saffron Walden. It’s something I instil into every coach who joins the team: clear boundaries, positive relationships, knowing when to step in, knowing when to give a child space, and always looking beyond the behaviour to the child in front of us.
Our aim isn’t to create elite athletes at three years old.
It’s to give children strong movement foundations and positive experiences of being active that they can take into whatever comes next.
